Based on the novel by Agatha Christie and aired in March 2006. Poirot is invited to join the mysterious Mr Shaitana for dinner only to discover later in the evening that his host has been murdered by one of the fellow guests.

Lyndsey Marshal who plays Ann Meredith also went on to play Amy Gibbs in the ITV Marple episode ‘Murder if Easy’ in 2008 as well as Agatha Christie in a later TV adaptation called ‘Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar’ in 2019.

Based on the novel by Agatha Christie and aired in March 2006. Poirot is called in to investigate the grizzly murder of Cora Lansquanet (Galaccio)  who is found killed soon after she announced at her brother’s funeral….”well he was murdered wasn’t he?!”

Rotherfield Park in East Tisted, Alton, Hampshire, England is the house setting for Enderby Hall.

Based on the novel by Agatha Christie ‘Cards on the Table’ published in 1936

Rotherfield Park was also used in the filming of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ and Monica Dolan who played Miss Gilchrist also went on to play Janet McIntyre in the 2016 mini series ‘The Witness for the Prosecution’. 

There was also a 1963 adaptation featuring Miss Marple rather then Hercule Poirot under the alternative title of ‘Murder at the Gallop’ starring Margaret Rutherford.

Episode 4 Taken at the Flood

Based on the novel by Agatha Christie and aired in April 2006. A young woman is left all her husbands money at the expense of his dependent wider family. When she is prevented from sharing her wealth by her overbearing brother, the family call in Poirot to help prove claims that the widow’s first husband is still alive to invalidate the will.

Tim Piggot-Smith who plays Dr. Lionel Woodward previously appeared in the Peter Ustinov version of Dead Man’s Folly in 1986 as Sir George Stubbs. 

The title ‘Taken at the flood’ is from Shakespeare’s Julius Cesar when Brutus says “There is a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood, leads on to Fortune”.
